International Hydrological Decade
This article announces the International Hydrological Decade (IHD), to be initiated in 1965 and sponsored by UNESCO with the assistance of other United Nations (UN) agencies and scientific organizations. Hydrologists believe that the international program will improve scientific research beyond the possible efforts of any single nation to do so; that it will encourage scientists to increase the scope and effectiveness of their work; and, that it will improve communication with colleagues in other countries.
