The design of a distribution system should not stop short of the supply laterals and fixtures to the individual customer. The consumer must be assured that if he does take a shower, run the washing machine, sprinkle the lawn, and flush the toilet—simultaneously—he will have ample pressure to all fixtures. Here are the results of simulated home hookups using different sizes and types of laterals and meters, as they relate to customer‐delivered pressure.
