Eine Plattform für die Wissenschaft: Bauingenieurwesen, Architektur und Urbanistik
Consistent with the 2030 Architecture Challenge, every building needs to be designed or renovated to approach net‐zero energy in the next generation. Once the energy use intensity (EUI) has been reduced to its minimum, for a project to be net‐zero energy ready it must have the foresight to provide the required infrastructure for the seamless integration of renewable technologies at a later date. The relevance of certain traditional building design factors may be lessened by the improvement in building envelope performance with lower window to‐wall ratio (WWR) to reduce energy use. Buildings that meet the PHIUS+ 2015 Standard consume 86 percent less energy for heating and 46 percent less energy for cooling when compared to a codecompliant building. Public‐private partnerships, managed energy service agreements, and independent power providers offer new pathways for community energy, water, and waste system development that offer further opportunities to better our cities beyond the scale of individual buildings.
