Deep Solution Channel, Kentucky Dam, Kentucky
An unusual method of constructing a cutoff in a solution channel nearly 200 ft deep in the foundation at Kentucky Dam, together with an accurate picture of the results of grouting in the clay-filled and rock-filled channel, is described in this paper. The cutoff wall was constructed in the form of an arch dam except that it was built from the top down rather than starting from the bottom and working upward.
