Study on Influencing Factors of BIM Adoption in China’s Construction Industry Based on FA-SEM Model
The adoption of building information modeling (BIM) can help the construction industry to change its development mode, improve quality, and efficiency, however, the adoption rate of BIM in China’s construction industry is generally low. In order to further explore the reasons, this paper extracts 22 influencing factors of BIM adoption through literature review, establishes the hypothesis of BIM UTAUT model, and based on 453 valid questionnaires, main factors are extracted by factor analysis, and the influence degree of each factor is measured and tested by structural equation model. The results show that BIM adoption is positively correlated with facilitative conditions, actual efficiency, and social impact, negatively correlated with the cost of adoption, and not significantly correlated with the degree of technical difficulty. Finally, the corresponding suggestions are put forward to promote the adoption of BIM in China’s construction industry.
