Impulsive Motion of Elasto-Plastic Shear Buildings
The method of normal modes is applied to the analysis of elasto-plastic shear buildings subjected to impulsive loads, foundation uplift, and nonuniform viscous damping. Interaction of foundation rotation and plasticity in the superstructure is described. A short table of approximate modes and frequencies is included.
