A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Research on the Construction of Innovation-Driven Smart Cities
A number of domestic and foreign cities have begun building smart cities in order to make the smart-city construction more efficient and practically significant, summing up the main content of the innovation-driven smart city and analyzing its importance. First, this paper describes the connotation, the status of domestic and foreign construction of the smart cities, and analyzes and summarizes five different typical paths of the smart city construction. The five paths are:(1) innovation-driven; (2) industry-driven; (3) sustainable development; (4) multi-target development; and (5) management services-driven. Then, the paper analyzes the main content and importance of the innovation-driven smart city construction. It argues that the innovation-driven path is a very promising model. Finally, the paper uses empirical research methods and takes Ningbo City as a case of depth exploration on an innovation-driven smart city. Results of this study can provide a theoretical basis and practical experience for smart city construction.
