Factors Influencing Irrigation in Humid Areas
Irrigated agriculture in the eastern United States, if properly guided, offers one of the largest potentials a vailable for increasing productivity of cropland and pasture land. Some of the data most urgently needed by the field engineer for a more a dequate design for irrigation systems in the humid areas are those concerning water supply and its physical control, relationships between soil and moisture, irrigation-water requirements, methods of water application, and drainage. The need for more adequate water laws is emphasized.
