A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Treatment Trio
As part of a plan to reduce its dependence on nonrenewable groundwater and diversify its drinking water sources, the Parker Water and Sanitation District, in Parker, Colorado, recently completed the Rueter-Hess Water Purification Facility, an innovative 10 mgd plant that features ballasted sedimentation, recirculated powdered activated carbon, and ceramic membrane filtration. The facility enables the district to treat a blend of source waters, including surface runoff, groundwater, alluvial well water, and reclaimed wastewater.
