Seepage Study using Electrical Analog
A simple and inexpensive electrical analog is considered, which was used to study two-dimensional seepage in heterogeneous media. It consists of multiple layers of conductive paper. Simple techniques for the analog assembly are described. The analog technique is applied to a study of flow through two pervious layers of different permeabilities under a structure with a cutoff wall upstream. Results with regard to flow rates, pressure head distributions and exit pressure gradients are presented in dimensionless and graphical form.
