Role of Specifications in Foundation Construction
The interconnecting roles of engineer, architect, insurer, contractor, and owner are recognized. The need is discussed for equitable distribution of risks during the construction phase of a project. Emphasis is placed on underground foundation construction with its consequent difficulties in accurate risk prediction. Organizations developing interdisciplinary solutions to the problem are presented.
