Energy Management Effects on Asset Value
The objective of this study was to establish a relationship between facility energy management and asset valuation in federal facilities. The current operating pool of federal government facilities of varying size and location were considered in this study to determine this relationship. The overall value of a building asset was considered and evaluated in the context of the building's energy performance over time. One major conclusion was that facilities that had better energy management have higher "tier" ratings than those buildings that had little to no energy management. The findings of this study would be useful for facility/building managers and asset managers.
