A Case Study on Jet Grouting Application for Deep Excavation in Granular Soils
This paper presents a case history of excavation support cutoff wall system using interconnected jet grout columns reinforced by a combination of multiple rows of tie-back anchors and H-steel beam piles. To define the optimal grouting parameters and to determine the mechanical properties of jet grout columns, several trial jet grout columns were executed in coarse grain soils. Taking the presented case history into consideration can be pointed out that how effectively the jet grouting technology can be utilized on various geotechnical applications specifically in gravel and cobble strata. Moreover, the extensive quality control and assurance methods conducted on the site, before and during the construction phase are elaborated here.
