Norris Dam Construction Cableways
The development and application of thrust-wheel type traveling cableways and the detailed features of design at Norris Dam are here explained. The design features were checked under field conditions by tests which are described, analyzed, and compared to the design figures. In general the tests check the original computations closely, but in some instances they pointed to opportunities for further study and precautions to be used in the application of theoretical formulas.
