Resilient, Sustainable and Green Infrastructure Concepts – A Literature Review and Proposed Preliminary Framework for a Comprehensive Infrastructure Evaluation System (CIES)
This paper presents an intensive survey of literature, focused on the different aspects of infrastructure evaluation systems as related to the infrastructure sustainability and resilience. The literature dictates the exploration of the underlying connections of the three main themes of “greenness”, “resilience” and “sustainability” of infrastructure systems and how they could evolve into one comprehensive infrastructure evaluation system (CIES). After reviewing most of the widely used infrastructure evaluation systems, certain deficiencies appeared across the board that should be addressed in a CIES. The paper concluded with a recommendation of a preliminary main framework for a comprehensive evaluation system development.
