Temperature of Water at Various Depths in Lakes and Oceans
In discussing the relative advantages of drawing water from a projected deep fresh-water reservoir in this vicinity, either from a depth of 170 feet, or from another point 60 feet below the surface, the writer expressed the opinion, that the temperature of the water at the greater depth would be much more constant during the year than at the shallower point; that is to say, the water at 170 feet would be very much cooler in the summer, and somewhat warmer in the winter months.
