The Bridge Over the Tennessee River At Johnsonville, Tennessee
The preparation of a more elaborate paper on this subject was nearly complete when paper No. 713 was presented to the Society. It became necessary, therefore, to revise the original and strike out, as far as possible, those features of the work already described. The bridge of the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway over the Tennessee River, at Johnsonville, Tenn., was built in 1866 by the Nashville and Northwestern Railroad Company. Brig.-Gen. William P. Innes was Chief Engineer, L. Hutchinson, Resident Engineer, and Charles H. Ball, Assistant Engineer.
