Beach Volume Changes on a Meso-Tidal Sandy Coast
The beach volume in two sets of morphological surveys at the coast of Egmond aan Zee was related to the depth of crest of a subtidal bar and the incident wave height. It is shown that the beach volume and the depth of crest of the first set were negatively related with r2 = 0.46. A much lower skill in the second set was due to the response time of the beach which was O[102hour]. Beach volume changes related negatively to the wave height on the inner bar crest though the skill was low (0.29). The results are interpreted as a profile change model which is compared to the traditional bar-berm model.
