The present disclosure relates to a method for selecting a sandy beach site on a muddy coast. The method includes the following steps: step 1: selecting a concave arc-shaped muddy coast as a candidate target site, where the concave arc-shaped coast has natural headlands on double ends or can be provided with artificial headlands on double ends; step 2: analyzing whether a coastal profile of the candidate target site meets a preset topographic condition; and step 3: calculating a water velocity V after wave breaking at the candidate target site, calculating a critical water velocity Uc for moving a viscous sediment under a limit water depth, determining a relationship between V and U, and determining whether the candidate target site is a high-quality sandy beach site on the muddy coast. The present disclosure achieves quantitative evaluation of a specific site in terms of geomorphological feature, topographic profile and wave condition, and provides more sufficient technical basis for the planning and design of an artificial sandy beach on the muddy coast. -10 X~bl u E -8.
