Larger Diameter GRP Pressure Jacking Pipe Design and On-Site Monitoring
At present, pipe jacking is mainly used for the laying of drainage pipes due to the limited kind of pipe. GRP (Glass fiber reinforced plastics) pressure jacking pipe is one of pressure pipe which can be used for jacking pipes. This new type jacking pipe has many advantages, such as light, high strength, corrosion-resistant, long life and so on. Shanghai Yangtze River Phase III pipeline project of water transportation use this jacking pipe firstly, pipe nominal diameter of 2300 mm, the pressure rating of 0.6MPa. Through the design of large diameter GRP pressure jacking pipe, numerical analysis, properties testing and on-site monitoring in practical project, we can introduce this new jacking pipe and show the feasibility of applying this pipe and its characteristics, which has significance for other pipe jacking projects.
