Alternative Contract and Delivery Methods for Pipeline and Trenchless Projects
Alternative contract delivery methods continue to gain popularity as a method to reduce the overall cost of construction or reduce schedules. Many owners are now regularly selecting methods such as design-build, engineering procurement construction (EPC), construction management at risk instead of a conventional design bid build process. This paper will discuss through actual case studies the use of alternative design and construction methods as it has been applied to pipeline and trenchless projects. Insight on the appropriateness of each of the methods will be shared including past successes and lessons learned.
