A Review on Current Research about Construction Industrialization
The development of industrial construction has made great progress since 50s of last century. In recent years, construction industrialization has been widely mentioned as a new construction idea. At the same time, many scholars of college and people from enterprise have done a lot of research and practical work. However, there is lack of a systematic review of this large number of studies. This paper firstly reports a comprehensive review on existing study about construction industrialization. In summary, current research mainly focuses on studying engineering technology for solving the various problems encountered in the construction site and the impact of industrial construction on construction quality, schedule, cost, and environment. Combined with the existing research, this paper later supports several reasonable suggestions about the direction for future research. As a kind of construction mode which is vigorously promoted, the research about the industrial construction standards, evaluation methods, and social benefits is not enough which should be the focus of future research so that the new building model can create the greatest social benefits.
