Construction Supply Chain Integration: Past and Future
The construction supply chain integration (CSCI) is considered one of the major factors in improving construction supply chain performance, especially for projects involving building information modelling (BIM) and prefabrication. Although CSCI has been studied extensively, there is still no consensus on its definition, scope, and benchmark. With the rapid growth of information technology applications in the construction industry, researchers have pointed out that the application degree, effectiveness, and trends of CSCI need to be studied more systematically and in depth. This study aims to clarify the concept, scope, and goals of SCI, and to identify the common research topics. We conducted a literature review on SCI research in the construction sector and developed a conceptual framework to facilitate future research.
