The $1.6-billion New Meadowlands Stadium, the home of both the New York Giants and the New York Jets National Football League franchises, is more than 50 percent larger than its predecessor. Chosen as the site of the 2014 Super Bowl, the new facility was designed with long spans and a minimal number of expansion joints, partly to accommodate a more than 28-fold increase in the number of premium suite and club seating areas.
