Inflation and Equipment Replacement Economics
The proposed analysis procedure enables construction contractors to correctly account for the costs associated with machine price increases caused by inflation. Methods for acquiring the necessary input data for the procedure are presented. An example set of calculations based on actual contractor cost files is worked out and the results discussed. The dynamic nature of equipment economics is also stressed.
