Construction of Juvenile Fish Outfall Structures at Bonneville Dam
Past studies have indicated the existing below-water juvenile fish outfall release site, in the tailrace below the Corps of Engineers' Bonneville Dam Second Powerhouse, is home to large concentrations of predators (pikeminnow) and deficient from a biological standpoint. To increase survival of juvenile salmonid migrants, new above-water outfall structures were relocated and constructed to provide biologically superior release sites for both the Bonneville Dam first and second powerhouse bypass systems.
