Evaporation on United States Reclamation Projects
It is roughly estimated that on Federal irrigation projects alone, 1 000 000 acre-ft. of water is lost each year by evaporation from reservoirs. Much of this loss is unavoidable, but in some instances substantial economies can be effected if the nature and extent of the losses are thoroughly studied.
