Evaporation on United States reclamation projects
Summarizes evaporation investigations of Reclamation Bureau to date; it is roughly estimated that on Federal irrigation projects alone, 1,000,000 acre-ft. of water is lost each year by evaporation from reservoirs; much of this loss is unavoidable but in some instances substantial economies can be effected if nature and extent of losses are thoroughly studied. See also discussion in nos. 4, 5 and 6, Apr., May and Aug. 1926, pp. 737-751, 1012-1014 and 1163-1222, 16 figs.
