Water Resources Planning for the Delaware Basin
Detailed studies to define a comprehensive plan for development of the water and related land resources of the Delaware Basin were made, from 1956 to 1960, by the Corps of Engineers, in cooperation with a number of interested federal and state agencies. The cooperating agencies actively participated in the studies under extraordinary coordinating arrangements. The plan formulation procedures used a series of distinct screenings, based on benefit-cost appraisals, to arrive at the optimum plan of development for the basin. Major elements of that plan have been authorized for construction in the next 20 yr to 25 yr.
