Victory Once More
An aging swing bridge in New Jersey has been replaced with a twin concrete box girder crossing that sets a U.S. record for span length using matchcast concrete segments. By using a carefully staged construction sequence, the first of the parallel structures was built adjacent to the existing bridge in just 15 months. Superstructure erection of the remaining crossing is on track to be completed in just 9 months.
