Construction and Management of Transit Stations along Chongqing Circle City Freeway
Chongqing circle city freeway connects many cities, towns and villages.. With the safety and convenience of adjacent residents as one of its construction goals, the construction and management of passenger stations is an important issue. A household investigation of residents along Chongqing circle city freeway was carried out by the use of Stated Preference (SP) survey methodology. This paper proposes a comprehensive plan for the circle city freeway passenger transportation system based upon the analysis of the travel characteristics of those residents. These characteristics include the trip purpose, frequency, mode, time, and request for the circle city freeway after its opening to traffic. The principle of site selection is defined. It should be combined with the distribution of settlements, characteristics of the freeway network alongside and the comprehensive freeway access and conditions before its finalized. In addition, geometrical designs are made on those passenger stations from the plane, vertical section, and cross-section. Research on the installation of management facilities considers many variables, including human behavioral characteristics and management technology. The latter is considered from the perspective of management staff selection and training, on-site management, and emergency incident management.
