Application of Multi-Pipe Grouting Technology for Restoration of a Subsided Building
This paper presents a case study that improved both serviceability and safety by performing soil reinforcement and foundation restoration for a 3-story building with a basement, having an independent mat foundation beneath, subjected to 678 mm differential settlements using the D-ROG (Digitalized Restoring On Grout) method. Soil beneath the building consisted of multi-layers with landfill, alluvial soils, weathered rock, and soft rock. The bearing layer consisted of gravel and weathered rock is located 16.0~17.0 m below the bottom of the building. After the soil reinforcement and foundation restoration, the maximum recovered settlement was 657 mm and the recovery ratios of all the restored locations were in excess of 90%.
