Analysis of Structures by Combining Redundants
A method of analysis of elastic structures that avoids the solution of large systems of simultaneous equations is examined. This method is applicable to structures of any type or degree of indeterminacy and, in special cases, reduces to the well known elastic center and column analogy methods. The underlying theory is presented, its use is indicated by examples, its physical meaning is discussed, and its relation to the better known special methods is shown.
