Evaluation of Diameter and Characteristics of Jet Grouting Columns-Analytical Approach
The paper presents the basics and concepts of a computer program for the evaluation of principal parameters for jet grouting columns, such as diameter, the required injected mix volume, volume of the spoil and dispersed mix, bulk unit weight of the column and of the spoil. The input data consist of: a) the equipment used, nozzle geometry and pump pressure; b) the soil stratigraphy; c) the jet grouting technology MONO, DOUBLE, TRIPLE, PREWASHING, PRECUTTING. The program has been derived by combining basic soil mechanics and fluid pressure distribution. The various formulas have been corrected with coefficients derived from field observations made at several sites, where the above mentioned parameters have been measured. Solid correlation has been found in general between measured and observed parameters.
