Expression of sustainable architecture and its directions / ; Darnios architektūros raiška ir jos kryptys.
The doctoral dissertation analyzes the aesthetics of sustainable architecture and the directions of its expression, as well as the possibilities of creating aesthetically attractive and sustainable architecture. The research examines the historical development of sustainable architecture and its relationship with ethics. It includes case studies of existing architectural objects in the Baltic Sea region, as well as an analysis of sustainable building certification schemes and architectural quality criteria. The dissertation offers a refined classification of sustainable buildings and a conceptual methodology for evaluating them based on theoretical approaches. The results of a sociological survey are presented, revealing the social-psychological acceptability of the directions of sustainable architecture. This study explores aesthetics as a comprehensive sensory experience and presents criteria derived from a wider range of senses necessary for a high-quality architectural environment.
