A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Moderno architektūros raiška ir sklaidos ypatumai Lietuvos kultūriniame kraštovaizdyje / ; Expression and features of distribution of the modern style architecture in the cultural landscape of lithuania.
The purpose of the work is to contribute to the development of art geography and the knowledge of the development of the cultural landscape in Lithuania. The object of research is Modern Style architecture objects in the Lithuanian landscape. The work reveals the main links between architecture and landscape. The main features of a specific architectural style (Modern Style), regional peculiarities and tendencies of territorial distribution in the Lithuanian landscape are described. During the research of Modern Style architecture objects (buildings, parks and monuments) data were systematized and an original database (table) was created, which indicates the geographical location of the object, year of construction, architect, type of building material and branche of the Modern Style object. The maps created in the work reveal not only the scattering of modern objects in relation to the territorial units of morphostructure of Lithuanian, Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda landscapes, but also the original zoning of modern architecture in Lithuania according to style branche. From the compiled maps, the regularities of territorial and artistic expression of this architectural style are identified and described.
