Prarastųjų erdvių konversija: Sociotopas Alytuje ; Conversion of Lost Spaces: Sociotope in Alytus
This final master thesis is about the problem of lost spaces in the city – by analyzing the perspectives of space formation and adapting them to the needs of modern society. City social spaces must be restored through new socializing design principles, by applying a rational urbanistic architectural concept in which the person is an significant cultural and social unit by whom the social environment depends. Ideas of functionalism, technological progress in the twentieth century became one of the reasons for the emergence of lost spaces - as the building is emphasized in the space around it. This has led to a change in the structure and social meaning of the cities. The master 's thesis explores visions for the reversal of lost space conversions in the context of today. As an offer, an architectural prototype is created - a sociotope. Sociotope - it is a space that connects human activities. A solution is proposed for what multicultural living spaces might look like in the future. The work consists of 7 parts: introduction, research part, field research, project part, conclusions, list of used literature, sources and list of pictures. Scope of work: 124 pages of text without attachments, 105 illustrations, 1 table and 42 sources. Work appendices are attached separately.
