Gewebebogenbrücken ; Woven Arch Bridge
Die „Gewebebogenbrücken“ zeichnen sich aus durch Balken, die miteinander verbunden sind, und einander gegenseitig abstützen. Obwohl sehr besonders und ingeniös, sind sie in mehreren Kulturen zu finden. In China findet sich dieses Bauprinzip in einer 12. Jh. Malerei, in Europa in den Skizzen von Leonardo da Vinci. Heute existieren noch etwa 100 historische Gewebebogenbrücken in den Bergen Südostchinas. Die Handwerkstechnik für diese Brückenart ist bis heute überliefert. Die Arbeit zielt einerseits auf eine historische Forschung über die Strukturart in beiden östlicher und westlicher Baukultur, andererseits auf eine anthropologische Erforschung der Brückenbautechnik in Südostchina. ; The "woven arch bridge" is comprised of beams that are interlocked with each other. Despite the peculiar form and ingenious construction, this kind of structure and structural principle is in multiple cultures to find. In China, the earliest witness could be traced to a 12th century painting, while the similar idea could be found in da Vinci ‘s sketches. Today, there are ca. 100 wooden bridge with similar woven structure existed in the mountains of Southeast China. The craftsmanship has been handed down. This dissertation aims at two aspects: the building historical research of the bridge cases, and an anthropological study on the construction technique and craftsman tradition in Southeast China.
