A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism

This thesis widely analyzes public spaces and their furnishing. The first chapter reviews the concept and distribution of public space. The second chapter includes in depth analysis of closed-type transit areas and their main classifications. The third chapter studies modern furniture developed specifically for transit areas. The fourth chapter contains a detailed functional analysis of the product. Three artistic sketches for each of the product classes are presented, which are based on the requirements for design and ergonomics; The designed object is meant to provide privacy and comfort in a public space. An Individual waiting room only partially reflects on the previously collected theoretical material because a suddenly announced quarantine created a need for isolation and protection in a public space. The objects innovative shape provides it with a flexible and functional design.
