A thesis focuses on different aspects of building Startups in Lithuania. There is still lack of research in this area by the academic community. Startups‘ topic is rather new. The main advantage of this paper – trying to touch different aspects of building Startups, for example, financial resources used, supporting programs and tools used, identify success parameters and problems, as well as to establish which models are being used to build Startups. Aim of this paper – to analyze Startups‘ models found in academic literature, supporting programs and tools, identify success parameters and problems and establish building aspects of Startups in Lithuania. Problem of this research could be explained in few different questions: Which models of building Startups in Lithuania are being used? What are the parameters of success and what problems occur? Which financial resources and supporting programs are being used in building Startups? The first part of this paper focuses on theoretical aspects of Startups models, their financial resources in different stages, supporting programs, success parameters and problems that occur. Empyrical part focuses on aspects of building Startups in Lithuania. The questions for interview were formed according to theoretical part of this paper. Interviews were held with 8 different Startups‘ founders. Data was allocated into different catagories and subcategories. The results of the research unfolded that some Startups creating their product or service use models described in literature. The majority of them are using variations of different models. Startups are mostly using personal funds. The founders don‘t want to give their Startup value to Venture Capital Funds. But Startups that got investments from Venture Capital Funds were satisfied. Supporting programs and tools are not that popular among the Startups mentioned in this research. The majority of them don‘t participate in accelerator programs and don‘t use services of technological parks or business incubators. The main measurement of success for startups is a team. Informants did also tell that idea and product are very important too. The biggest problems for Startups are: lack of finances, difficulties building good teams. Some informants also told that there is a lack of good specialists and information.
