With this master’s thesis we seek to find out the content and interpretation of the urban agriculture concept. The urban agriculture concept is not widely known, even more – equally understood. It is like an oxymoron that tries to overcome the confrontation between urban and rural. After analyzing the most commonly used European urban agriculture models and finding out about its operation forms, we came to the conclusion that the emerging problem in Vilnius city is associated with the utilization of agricultural land. Areas for this purpose have a functional vacuum, do not create added value, but have a higher ecological potential for the city. This project creates an urban agricultural structure that can contribute to the preservation of areas for future generations. Buildings of various sizes, different functions, temporary structures with various types of economies are planned in the territory, integrating the use of leisure functions.
