Pengembangan Alat Kempa Panas (Hot Press) Penekanan Dongkrak Hidrolik untuk Pembuatan Papan Komposit ukuran 25 cm x 25 cm
Humanneedswithwoodcontinuetoincreasealongwiththeincreasingpopulation,ontheotherhandIndonesia hasaverylargesupplyofwood.Onewaytoovercomethisisbysubstituting theuseofwoodfrom composite boardproducts fromwoodornon-woodwastematerials suchassawdust,coconutfiber,OPEFBfiber,bamboo fiber,bagasseandothers.Compositeboardmanufacturingtechnologyisstronglyinfluenced bythetemperature, timeandpressurecontainedinthehotpress,eitherthesystemworksmanuallyormechanically.The use ofahot pressmachinehassofarbeensimpleusinganelectricheatingelementfromanironelement.Foranareaof40 cmx 40cmboardmoldingrequired2ironelements,theheat generatedisnotoptimal(upto1200 C), toheatthe boardto1500Ctheheatingelementoftenbreaks/burns,thisiscertainlylessefficient.Stripeheatertype electricheatingelementisaflatplateheating element(HotPlate)whichcanbeusedtoheataflatsurfaceon pressinglignocellulosic material.Thepurposeofthisresearchistoengineeranddesignandmanufacturesmall scaleheatpressfor40cm x40cmmoldsize,totesthotpress andtotestthephysicalandmechanicalproperties ofcompositeboards.Fromtheresultsofthemanufactureofhotpressingtoolsobtainedtoolsize100cmx60cm usingironprofileusize12cmx6cmx6cmwithathickness of0.4cm.Thepressureunitconsistsofabase platemeasuring40cmx 40cmx 1.5cm, apressureplatemeasuring40cmx40cmx 0.8cm, aheatingelement measuring 40cmx40cmx0.5cmusingapowerof1.5Kweachone.Thesuppressorcomponentusesa hydraulic jackwithapressureof50tons.Theheatingelementcircuitiscontainedintheelectrical panelbox consistingofMCB,signlights,thermocouple,amperemeter,andelectricalwires.Fromtheresultsoftheheattest onthesurfaceofthepressureplateobtainedheatspreadevenlyontheentiresurfaceoftheplateandthepressure appliedtothepressureplateisabletowithstandthepressurefromthehydraulicjackwitha flatsurfaceshape.
