Properties of asphalt made from Athabaska bituminous sands
Asphalts of different grades were prepared from crude bitumens obtained at two different locations; comparative analysis; test results; blown asphalts from Athabaska bitumen are similar in physical properties to those prepared from various crude oils; it would appear to be feasible to process Athabaska bitumen to any required consistency and hardness.
