Summary of over 2000 tests of shock pressures exerted by breaking waves; behavior from instant to instant of breaking waves, relationships between wave pressures, and configuration of breaking waves were measured by means of 16 mm high speed movie taken at 3000 frames/sec in synchronism with pressure gages; new formulas for maximum shock pressure and for vertical distribution thereof.
