Eine vollstaendig geschweisste Bogenbruecke in Pilsen
Welded Steel Arch of 166-Foot Span in Czechoslovakia; bridge designed and built by Skoda Works of Pilsen is one of largest welded bridges undertaken and is believed to be first all-welded arch; consists of two 2-hinged arch ribs spaced 20 ft 8 in. apart having rise of 35 ft; arch ribs built up of 5/8 in. webs. 2 ft 11 in. deep, and two flange plates, 161/8 in. wide; total width of structure is 29 1/2 ft: weight 110 tons, of which 47 tons comprise weight of arch ribs.
