Previously developed equation for correlation of evaporation and insolation quantities with air temperature for local region was recomputed from wider geographic distribution of data; it was found that this more general equation estimated evaporation with correlation coefficients as high as those found when estimating evaporation with individual station equations; it is found that this equation is suitable for estimating monthly totals of pan or shallow basin evaporation and yearly totals of lake evaporation.
