Structural recommendations for loadbearing walls
Code gives structural recommendations relating to load-bearing walls of brickwork, blockwork (which for purposes of Code includes masonry) and concrete, in regard to materials to be used, maximum permissible stresses and methods of design and construction; in 2 methods of determining necessary thickness of walls used, thickness is related to height and length of wall, or is determined in relation to load to be carried by wall, in conjunction with certain specified permissible stresses.
