Repeated stresses in highway bridges
Method is proposed for predicting frequencies of various levels of stress to which various members of highway bridges may be subjected; method takes into account frequency distribution of heavy truck loads measured in terms of their H-equivalencies on various spans, lateral placement of vehicles in highway traffic, and relative frequencies of stress-producing effects of these loadings at any selected point in given bridge.
