Designed to provide all forms of athletic facilities for city with population of 80,000, center covers area of 25 acres and includes soccer stadium, training grounds, sports hall, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, indoor ice skating rink, and other facilities; grandstand has total capacity of 8800 spectators; indoor swimming pool has 44×46.3 m suspended roof of hyperbolicparabolic shape covered with corrugated aluminum plates; cables are anchored in two prestressed concrete parabolic arches supported on reinforced concrete walls.
