Flexible pavement maintenance requirements as determined by deflection measurement
Paper discusses results of use of deflection method by California Division of Highways for evaluation of existing flexible pavements and recommendation of suitable reconstruction; test procedure, method of evaluation of deflection data, and design criteria which have evolved are examined in detail; separate section of report is devoted to review of current deflection research, including work done on establishment of maximum deflection criteria which may be adjusted for variations in traffic volume; brief analysis of radius of curvature data obtained with G.L.Dehlen curvature meter is also included.
